Add classical sounding pedal licks to your rock soloing – 6:00 min
In this lesson Dave Nassie teaches how to add some classical sounding licks to your rock guitar solos. This classically inspired pedal tone lick in the key of G that will really help your alternate picking. Pedal licks are common in classical music and a pedal lick has a repeating note used for melody that you keep going back to. Play these licks slow at first as the fingering can be tricky. Work up the speed over time and chip away at it. These pedal melodies are a lot of fun and can add that classical flair to your solos. Experiment with them and try them with different scales and insert them into your playing – enjoy!
