Melodic rock soloing techniques learn improv jamming pt1 – 21:43 min
In this series of lessons David Taub teaches melodic rock soloing techniques, strategies, modal playing and devices. This is a four part lesson series and this lesson is part 1. Be sure and check out all parts as David goes through a ton of soloing and improv concepts and strategies that you can blast over all your playing. The theme here is putting licks together with scales and arpeggios in a melodic phrasing fashion. This series starts off with easier examples and gets more challenging as the series goes on. Learn all about the importance of repetition, space, and varying your licks. The backing track David uses here is very simple two chord track going from a Camj7 to Am – key of C major. Then David gets into teaching the scales and modes used throughout the lesson series and he gets deeper into the theory as the series progresses. Use these lessons as templates to follow when working on your own jamming and improvisation over progressions and tracks. Practice in various keys and over various jam tracks with different feels. remember to keep repeating and varying your licks and leave lots of space – keep coming up with melodic motifs and licks and most importantly have fun!
