In this lesson Dave Nassie teaches how to build speed and accuracy when shredding in the style of Jacky Vincent from the band Falling In Reverse. Dave focuses on sweep picking and alternate picking in this lesson. This will be in the key of G and use the D Mixolydian scale shape to work out some of these patterns. These patterns will really help you work up your alternate picking. Then Dave will put a new spin on these patterns that are very rooted in tradition. These patterns can be turned into cool licks that are right in the style of this player. So experiment with them and put your own spin on them. Try reversing the patterns as Dave demonstrates for even more alternate picking practice and economy motions in descending directions. Try these patterns on other strings and move them around on the neck. Stay in the key of G at first but for sure try these in other keys as you practice over time. Dave switches to the key of C for some fun sweep picking examples over chord changes. Fun stuff!
