I started learning the guitar a year ago, having never played before I took lessons at my local guitar shop. I learned basic chords but quickly found the lessons lacking theory.

I then joined Next Level Guitar in April of 2008 and since that time I cannot believe the difference in my learning curve. The easy to understand lesson plans at Next Level Guitar are not only interesting but fun to do.

David breaks down music theory and concepts into small digestible pieces making it easy to grasp. His, “You Can Do It”, attitude keeps me motivated and wanting to try new and more difficult concepts, this pushes me to become a better player and gets me to the next level.

I still have the enthusiasm I had when I started and enjoy learning this great instrument. I’ve recommended this site to several people interested in learning the guitar and all have found it to be, not only informative, but most of all, fun.

I love watching the videos at nextlevelguitar.com because they are in bite sized small amounts. The lessons average out at about 5 - 10 minutes each and it is just enough to get me into it and want to practice it straight away.

Also, David usually shares some story about the subject that he is teaching and it makes me feel like I am having a private lesson with his full attention. I love most of all the encouragement and enthusiasm that is in the lessons because he continues to affirm to me that 'you can do it!' and sooner or later it really sinks in!

Anyone can pick up the guitar and learn with these lessons. I cannot watch a video lesson and not pick up the guitar and practice imeditately! The benefits I have had are improved confidence in playing and especially in rhythm which was the part I was most lacking in.

I have also broadened my horizons in my own songwriting because I am constantly getting good ideas from the lessons that I can implement into songs and play with different ideas, techniques and rhythms. So it is a massive play box full of ideas waiting to be written. I love the time, dedication and energy that has been put into these videos by David and Tim, it shows real love and passion for the art of playing. It takes a lot to be a good teacher and David really has all the ingredients of fun, simplicity, clarity and enthusiasm.

First off thanks for the awesome website at nextlevelguitar.com. Rock on! So far the videos have helped every aspect of my playing. I have been playing guitar for about two years and I've been stuck at basic open chords and the same lame scale and I've had a hard time finding songs that would help me improve and take my playing to the next level.
