Lesson 21 Proper strumming mechanics and note length lesson – 7:01 minutes 

This module will teach you the mechanics and technique of proper strumming. Strumming is in the arm and David takes you through all the proper mechanics of good strumming technique. This module will also begin your training on the importance of timing. Music is so much more than chords and notes but its also about rythem and meter. You have to have a solid foundation with your strumming to build upon for future lesson modules. Incorporate these techniques into your practice routines. Music is about passion and emotion and feeling and David will teach you how to incorporate that into your strumming and rhythm.

This lesson starts you on learning chords and will teach proper fret hand techniques. This is critical as you will be using these techniques to play your first set of chords and as you move forward in your guitar journey. This lesson gives you close up shots of the proper fret hand technique that you will need to learn and practice with all your chords that you will be learning. This basic foundation is absolutely critical – as we dont want you to develop any bad habits that will inhibit your future playing and learning. Lesson 14 Electronic tuner features and how to tune to Standard Tuning A440 – 10:53 minutes 

This module teaches you the features of an electronic tuner and how to use it properly to tune your guitar to standard A440 tuning. The lesson shows you how to operate the tuner while its hooked up to the guitar and the proper way to tune up to a note to ensure your guitar stays in tune.

Lesson 13 Introduction to tuning your guitar – make it easy for yourself – 6:52 minutes 

This module teaches the importance of keeping your guitar in tune and suggests to save yourself some frustration and get an electronic tuner. We show you a basic tuner and get you thinking about its features. Eventually we will teach you to tune by ear using relative pitch. A big part of our training here at next level guitar is ear training. So eventually you will learn how to tune by ear – but for now – it will be the easiest and most efficient for you to use an electronic tuner.

Learn the names of the six open strings on the guitar – 3:49 minutes 

This lesson will teach you the name of the six open strings. We will use a handy anachonym so you will never forget the names of the open strings. Eventually we will teach you all the note names on the guitar, but we have to start with the six open strings. We also discuss in this lesson the beginnings of music theory and how it can be fun and not the big monster that many claim – we will make music theory easy and fun here at next level guitar!
