In this lesson Jeff Ross teaches some Gypsy Jazz lead guitar improv and devices in the key of D minor. This lesson will be structured around a four bar phrase in the key of Dm where the V chord is a dominant 7 – like in so many Gypsy Jazz songs in minor key like Minor Swing and Dark Eyes. You can fit these devices and licks into that minor key feel so experiment with these, turn them around, get creative with them and make them your own. The V chord in this progression is an A7 then goes back to the D minor. This lesson teaches the going down the neck descending chromatically with one finger. Start with these examples slow and work them up to speed over time. Have fun and practice these over the rhythm tracks in this section – enjoy!
